The Marple Township Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police, and the Delaware County Drug Task Force launched an investigation earlier this year on the assumption that Christopher P. Newby, 32, was trafficking drugs in the Marple Township area, they said.

The investigation took a turn in April and May when an undercover officer purchased drugs from Newby on multiple occasions, local police said.

On Wednesday, June 1, a search warrant was served at his Philadelphia home and on his 2021 Honda Accord, and the following items were discovered:

  • Glock 43, blue/silver firearm
  • Glock 43, pink/silver firearm that was confirmed to be stolen
  • Raven Arms MP-25, silver firearm with an obliterated serial number
  • Approximately one pound of methamphetamine
  • Approximately 275 grams (9.7 ounces) of cocaine
  • Approximately 135 suspected pressed fentanyl pills
  • Approximately 640 Xanax pills
  • Approximately 35 ecstasy pills
  • Approximately 125 grams (4.4 ounces) of fentanyl
  • Approximately 400 wax paper bags stamped “Playboy” containing suspected fentanyl
  • Approximately 390 wax paper bags stamped “We the best” containing suspected fentanyl
  • Approximately 45 wax paper bags stamped “Jungle Killer” containing suspected fentanyl
  • An unspecified amount of crack cocaine
  • Approximately $100,000 in cash

Newby was arrested without incident and charged with a slew of firearm and narcotics offenses, police said.

He was remanded to Delaware County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail, records show.
